As the world gears up for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics and the accompanying TV-watching spectacle/patriotism/ice-dancing fever, a new competition is taking center stage. No, I don’t mean female ski-jumping, snowboard parallel special slalom, or snowboard slope style (although all these new winter sports should be a blast to watch). It’s the selfie Olympics, and the Internet is going crazy over this new trend.
The rules, as far as I can tell, pretty much involve taking the funniest, most ridiculous selfie possible. And sharing it with your followers with the tag #selfieolympics. And crossing your fingers for retweets.
