Going to the movies is becoming more and more of a production as movies get longer and more expensive. Forget a spontaneous decision to catch a flick between appointments; instead, it’s an evening well worth planning in advance.

With helpful sites like Rotten Tomato and Fandango, you can do your research ahead of time on which movies are tearing up the box offices and which are probably not worth your time.

And then once you’re actually at that theater – man – the amount of options they have now for food and drinks are endless. You can still get your ubiquitous bag of buttered popcorn and peanut M&M’s, but some movie theaters now have full bars as well and will deliver gourmet meals to your seat.

Regardless, we take the movies seriously. The one little thing we can’t prepare for is – drum roll please – the pee break.

The urge to pee poses quite the dilemma. Especially if you’re sitting in the middle of your row, navigating your way past your fellow neighbors is: 1) stressful and 2) difficult. It’s pitch black in there!

More pressing, however, is trying to find the most convenient time to excuse yourself. You have no idea what’s going to happen in the next scene and you don’t want to miss something crucial.

Thanks to good ol’ technology, though, there is an app for that.

Cue RunPee.

RunPee is an app specifically designed to tell you when to go to the bathroom at the movies. Simply tell the app what movie you’re seeing and at what time and it will give a 3-5 minute “pee span” so you don’t miss any plot twists or funny lines. The app doesn’t flash or make disrupting noises either; it simply vibrates, giving you the green light to get up and go. In addition, the app will give you a detailed synopsis of what you missed before you return to your seat.

RunPee also has a few more fun features. The app includes access to Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB, Facebook, and Twitter making it easy to access multiple platforms at once and review the film. It also lets you know how long the credits run and if there are any funny bloopers or extras at the end. The app is $0.99, but we think it’s worth it (Available for all iOS, Android, and Windows).

Never feel anxious about timing your bathroom or snack break again. Download this app, sit back, and enjoy the show.
